Apprenticeship
An apprenticeship program combines on-the-job training with academic instruction, while an internship is purely on-the-job training
Childcare providers
This introductory course provides an overview of information that adults should understand before working with young children.
Required training
The 30 clock hours of annual training are exclusive of any requirements for the licensing Pre-application Course, first-aid and CPR training, and transportation safety training
Required annual training
- You must obtain a 30 clock hours of training each year relevant to the age of the children you provide care.
- The 30 clock hours of annual training are exclusive of any requirements for the licensing Pre-application Course, first-aid and CPR training, and transportation safety training
- 6 clock hours of the annual training hours must be in one or more of the following topics:
- Child growth and development;
- Guidance and discipline
- Age-appropriate curriculum; and
- Teacher-child interaction.
First Aid and CPR Training
Primary AND assistant caregiver must have current training in first aid with rescue breathing AND choking.
Primary/substitute of children in care away from must have current training in CPR for infants, children AND adult.
CPR training/recertification must adhere the guidelines for (CPR) for laypersons established and consist of a curriculum that includes CPR mannequin & both written/hands-on skill-instruction, practice/testing. CPR training can NOT be obtained through self-training.
